1 Month and Growing...

I realize that it's been a while since I've posted on here. Sorry for the wait. We've had quite a bit going on this last month and a half. Susannah Grace has been growing like a little weed! When I took her to her first doctor's appointment four days after she was born she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and measured 21 inches. During her 1 month check up her doctor revealed she weighed 10 lbs 7 oz and measured 21 inches (at five weeks)! She's getting to be a little chunky monkey. I'm sure when she starts growing more in length she'll slim out some :). I must say, I wasn't surprised that she was beginning to fill out some. She's been eating like crazy. She eats about 4 oz every 2- 2 1/2 hours, sometimes before. We're working on lengthening out our eating habits and taking more consistent naps. This week it's really started to click (week 6) and she has been doing a much better job. In addition, many of you may know that she was diagnosed with torticollis. This condition is not too serious. She just has a tight muscle on the right side of her neck. So, we have been doing lots of tummy time and physical therapy at home. All in all, I've been falling more and more in love with this precious little angel. Below I've included a little photo diary of some things she's been up to this past month and a half!

Tummy time is a blast! I can hold my head up like a big girl!

I love reading and spending time with mommy and daddy during this time!
We have lots of fun together!

I'm just working on my reading and counting skills.

My daddy sure is silly!
He makes me smile.
I sure do love to smile. I started smiling at 4 weeks and have been smiling ever since. I mainly smile at mommy and daddy but lately I've really been grinning at other visitors too!

Speaking of visitors...Her I am with my Nana!

I sure do love my Meme. She spoils me rotten!

Anna and little Bradford came to meet me!

Here are some things I love to do!
I love to suck on my hands or my paci.

I found my thumb!
Sometimes I love to dress up...and sometimes I don't :).
Get this bonnet off of me!
I love my lamb swing.
Sitting up in my Bumbo, like a big girl, sure is fun!
I also enjoy my play gym!

Did I mention that I LOVE being in my pumpkin seat, while in motion.
Mommy enjoys it too because it can always put me to sleep :).

Easter....
The Easter bunny came to visit me. :)
What's up Doc?
My cousin, Sydney, and I got all dressed up for church!
We got to pretend we were little bunnies while at Meme's.

Susannah Grace's First Photo Shoot!

We took Susannah Grace to have her first photo shoot done when she was one week and one day old. Ashley Warren did a fabulous job. Here are a few samples from the session!

Susannah Grace's Big Arrival!

Before the REAL labor process. Can you tell?
So sweet!
8 lbs. 2 oz. 21 inches
Sleeping ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz...
Our precious family
Which one had the baby? HA!
Poor daddy
Mommy and baby
Here I am in my going home outfit! Precious angel :)
We are thrilled to announce that Susannah Grace has arrived! God has graciously blessed us with this bundle of joy and we are ever so thankful. She was born on February 25, 2010 weighing 8 lbs. 2 0z. and measuring 21 inches long. Her journey was an interesting one. I labored for 27 hours. We originally had scheduled an induction for Sunday February 28th if she had not arrived by the time of her due date, February 26th. However, on Wednesday February 24th I started experiencing contractions that were 5 minutes apart. Therefore, I went to see Dr. Tamucci so that she could monitor me since this was my first pregnancy. Since my contractions were close together for several hours she decided to keep me overnight. The next morning she jump started my labor by breaking my water and starting me on pitocin. It was a scary process because as Susannah Grace moved farther down the birth canal her heart rate started to drop. At one point, my nurse told me that I might have to have a C-section due to her heart rate. However, Dr. Tamucci ended up using forceps to help move her through the birth canal and deliver her while I pushed. When she was finally delivered I was very concerned because she was purple and not breathing very well. Her first APGAR score was a 6. Then, after a few minutes her lungs seemed to work just fine which allowed her second APGAR score to increase to a 9. I was so thankful. Her lungs have been working very well ever since :). While I wish I could say that this was the only eventful moment at the hospital it wasn't. Many of you may know that while I was in the hospital, the day after I gave birth, Trey had to be admitted for pancreatitis. He spent two nights and one day in the hospital being treated. Meanwhile, Susannah Grace and I were discharged from the hospital on Saturday afternoon. Trey didn't return home until Sunday evening. I was so grateful when Trey was able to return home and we were able to settle in as one big happy family!

Susannah Grace's Nursery

I was so happy with the way everything turned out!
The monogram on the wall ended up being just what I wanted!

It took me a while to decide on the right pattern for the curtains, but I was so elated when these were finished with the results! Tonya did a fabulous job once again!

I'm such a sucker for cute lamp shades!
We got the stand from Target and the shade from Once Upon a Time.

Susannah Grace' s Meme got her the cute lamb night light.

My friend, Ashley, painted this canvas for me!
I LOVE it. She did such a good job!
My mother and I made the pillow you see out of extra fabric I had.
We are planning on having it monogrammed soon.

This is the wreath I made to hang on the hospital door.
It will also be displayed in her room.

I got this window pane and bookshelf at an antique store.
My plan is to put pictures of our family and Susannah Grace in the portions of the pane that don't have crosses in them after her photo shoot with Ashley Warren. :)

I've collected Swarovski crystal for some time now.
This used to be in our guest room. Now, Susannah Grace has it in her room.
Here is her going home dress and diaper bag. We are ready to go!
We finally finished her room!
Of course, I am always finding SOMETHING else to do.
However, it's pretty much done! I hope she loves it as much as I do!

Maternity Pictures

My dear friend's sister, Cynthia's sister, Bridget graciously offered to take our maternity pictures. We were thrilled with the results! I hope you enjoy them!
