7-8 Months :)

But, most of the time. This little girl is sugary sweet!

Yes, I know, I've been a terrible blogger. But, hey, cut me some slack...It's been a busy month as a mommy and a teacher! I feel like October just flew by. I thought I would take a moment to update you on Susannah Grace's sweet little life.

Sleeping:

Nighttime-11-12 hours at night

Naps- 2 naps a day-45 min. to 2 hours depending on the day :)

Eating:

Formula-4 bottles a day 6-8 ounces and sometimes less :)

Solids-Three meals a day

Development:

*We aren't crawling yet! I just don't know if she's going to be much of a crawler. She has scooted backwards a little bit, though! Ha!

*However, she is pulling up a little bit and practicing her walking skills holding mommy's hands with a lot of assistance.

*She says "Momma and Dadda" a lot. She's just started mimicking me saying "Bye bye." However, it's not consistent, just when she decides she wants to do it!

*She has started to go through the stranger stage a little bit. She has definitely developed an awareness of who she knows and who she doesn't. When she comes across someone she doesn't know she gets very serious and hardly smiles. There have only been a few times when this anxiety has turned into tears.

Funny things she is doing:

*Her personality has developed quite a bit. She is definitely a child who knows exactly what she wants. Sometimes, it's frustrating for her because Mommy won't let her have it!

*She doesn't love fruit. In fact, sometimes, she will shake her head "No, no, no, no!" at me to let me know she does not want anything to do with it! It is hilarious.

*She is developing more of a strong will to be independent with her feedings. She likes to feed herself. That's why she LOVES Cheerios.

*Instead of clapping with her hands she claps with her feet!

6 Months!

Half a year has come and gone with my little pumpkin. I can't believe it. People have always told me it would fly by. I didn't believe them at first, because the first four weeks of her life seemed like an eternity, without sleep! However, I find myself looking at her more and more each day with that, "My baby's growing up," look in my eye. I am so thankful the Lord chose to bless Trey and me with her life. Forgive me, Lord, when I have been ungrateful at times for certain situations in my life right now. Thank you for blessing me with a patient and hard working husband and a sweet, happy, and healthy baby. I pray you will continue to bless our sweet little family.

6 Month Stats:

Weight- 22lbs 12 oz (99%+Yes, she's off the charts!

She eats normally for a child her age. She's just a little chunky thing.)

Height: 27 inches (85%)

Eating:

Formula-5 bottles a day 6-8 oz each

Solids-cereal and fruit in the morning, veggie at lunch, and veggie and fruit at dinner

Sippy cup- We just started. The first try was not very successful. However, the second try she did much better. She seems to like water :).

Sleeping:

Naps- 2-3 naps ranging 1 hour-2 hours (mostly around an hour)

Nighttime sleep- 10-12 hours :)

Development:

*Rolling- tummy to back- still hasn't figured out how to roll from back to tummy. I think it is because she is a bigger baby. :)

*Sitting up- Baby girl is sitting up very well for long extended periods of time

*Hand-to hand coordination- she is passing toys from one hand to the other

*Tooth- Watch out Tooth Fairy, we have our first tooth!

*Crawling- not yet...hopefully soon :)

My Little Tigger!

So...Last week, I decided to put Susannah Grace in the Jump and Go to see what she would do! I had tried it out a couple of months ago but she was not too thrilled with it at that time. However, this time....she LOVED it! It was absolutely hilarious! I have provided a little video for your amusement. This was the first time we reintroduced this toy. Since that time, she has become a PRO and is also know as our little Tigger

"Momma" :)

Susannah Grace said her first word! Guess what it was..."Momma!" What can I say! She LOVES her "Momma." While I know she doesn't know what she is saying, it sure is cute! She started saying it a couple of weeks ago and has been saying it bunches lately! The way she moves her lips while she tries to say it cracks me up! I have an even better video clip on my phone that I love. I wish I knew how to download it onto my computer. Oh well, I've posted one from our camcorder that I thought would be a sweet reminder.

5 months!

I can't believe my sweet little girl is 5 months old. It seems like time has just flown by, and she's growing up too fast. This next month will be a big transition for Susannah Grace and me. I will be returning to work. It is going to be so hard to be away from her, but I am trusting that the Lord knows best and He is in control of all of this. Trey has done an excellent job providing for our family, and I am so thankful for the hard working husband that he is. Right now, me going back to work is what is best for our family. I'm so thankful that I have the job that I do. My principal, assistant principal, colleagues, students, and parents are so wonderful. I could not work in a better system, that is for sure! If you think about it, say a little prayer for me as I know I will be emotional about it, especially in the beginning.

Weight- 20 lbs 11 oz 99%- Yes, I know she is a little chunk, and I love every oz of her!

Height- 26 inches- 81%

Head- 16.5 - 50%+

Updates:

Eating~

5 bottles a day -every 3-4 hours 6-8 oz

rice cereal -for breakfast and dinner

vegetables- Sweet potatoes and peas- lunch and dinner

Sleeping~

Naps- 3 a day- usually 1 hour-2 1/2 hours

Night time- 10 1/2 - 11 hours

New things:

Sitting up for longer periods

Saying "Momma"- I will post a video soon!

Here are some things I've been up to lately:

I'm still working on my tummy time!

I can roll from my tummy to my back

but I still haven't figured out how to roll from my back to my tummy!

I'm sitting up pretty good by myself.

Mommy does have to watch me like a hawk so that I don't topple over, though.

Here I am sitting in my high chair.

For some reason I just keep sliding down :).

I LOVE sweet potatoes! Can't you tell?

I'm not to fond of peas or cold rice cereal.

I prefer my food warm!

I still enjoy relaxing in my bouncy seat!

4 Months!

I just can't believe how quickly time has passed in my little baby's life thus far. It's hard to believe she is 4 months already. It's been a true joy to watch her grow and learn. She has the sweetest spirit. Her smiles and giggles light up my heart with a since of pride and love. At this stage in her life, she is very inquisitive when she plays with toys. It's fun to watch her look at things with amazement as she takes it all in. She also loves to "talk" A LOT! She's currently experimenting with all the various sounds she can make. Lately, she has been making a very loud grunting noise, in addition to high pitched squeals and baby talk. Trey and I both agree, that while we love Susannah Grace with all of our hearts, the grunting noise is not the most pleasing sound she has ever made :). It is definitely comical, though. I have included her statistics below!

4 Month Stats:

Weight: 18 lbs 7 oz= 99% percentile :)

Height: 25 1/4 inches= 80% percentile

Head: 16 1/2 inches= 55% percentile

Things She's Doing:

Eating 5.5-7 oz every 3-4 (usually 3 1/2-4)- 5 bottles a day

Solid Foods (We are starting this weekend :o))

Sleeping

Naps: 3-4 lasting 1-2 hours

Night: 10-11 hours- We put her down around 8:00 p.m. and I wake her at 7:00 a.m.

Activities

Lots of playing with toys

Wiggling- kicking her legs and swatting her arms

Grabbing things- toys and mommy's hair

Sucking her thumb....ahhh! :)

As I was looking at her baby calendar today it had the following poem and verse that are so fitting for this time in her life:
